Code Esnna

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism has created the policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). The ESNNA code and ANDEAN PERU DISCOVER

have an agreement for joint actions to prevent and eradicate this issue.

The ESNNA Program And Our Commitment

The program in social development and protection of vulnerable populations is a comprehensive and complex initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).

It aims to raise awareness and provide training to the entire tourism sector in our country with the objective of preventing and ultimately eliminating the sexual exploitation of minors. Recently, we have obtained the CALTUR Certification – Level 2, also from Mincetur, and we are aligned with the most stringent government regulations for optimal tourism quality.

Specifically, for authorized and certified tourism agencies like us, the ESNNA program requests adherence to a Code of Conduct, which is subscribed to with Mincetur. This code requires the company to promote this initiative, its rules, and objectives. It also mandates proper training of staff and suppliers. Of course, the company commits to operating in accordance with all the requirements of the Code.

Unfortunately, child trafficking is a significant issue in Peru, but efforts are being made to combat it. Through the promotion of ethically responsible tourism, ANDEAN PERU DISCOVER contributes to the development, economic activity, and improvement of the living standards in the destinations we visit. In this regard, our commitment to the ESNNA program also helps reduce and eradicate the sexual exploitation of minors.

Concrete Actions – ESNNA Code

Adhering to the Code of Conduct of the ESNNA program commits us to consistently implement a series of actions that are carried out and reinforced as part of our activities.

Our office staff, as well as logistics staff (guides, chefs, drivers, porters), are already adequately trained to support the Code of Conduct. We do not, under any circumstances, offer or entertain any requests related to child or adolescent sexual tourism to both national and foreign tourists, for both ethical and legal reasons.

In the same vein, we collaborate with our partners (hotels, restaurants, etc., and all their staff) to ensure that the objectives and commitments of the ESNNA program are met in all sectors and stages of the tourism services we provide.

All of us at ANDEAN PERU DISCOVER, as well as our partners in our operations, are committed to enforcing the ESNNA Code of Conduct and reporting to the authorities when necessary.

The actions of the ESNNA code and ANDEAN PERU DISCOVER are highlighted and given priority within our social responsibility policies. We aim to ensure that tourism is an activity that only brings benefits to the region and the country, in line with our corporate mission, vision, and values.
