At this point you will meet your trekking chef and porters who will provide you with a snack for the hike and start the trek. Be sure to bring your original passport, as this is the first checkpoint along the Inca Trail. After passing the first checkpoint, you will visit the first Inca site, called Chachabamba, which in ancient times served as an Inca checkpoint to enter the Inca Trail, and you will have a brief guided tour to understand its importance. It is also here, where we will take a moment to take a group photo.

After the archaeological site, the hike will begin with a gentle uphill climb to meet the Classic Inca Trail. Throughout the hike we will have wonderful views of Machu Picchu mountain, the Urubamba River and other surrounding Inca sites. We will also pass by some waterfalls, a perfect occasion to refresh the body. The trail itself has some flat areas, as well as some short uphill and downhill hikes. It also has steps, arranged in sections that can be narrow in some areas, but not dangerous. After walking for approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at the most beautiful Inca site on the Inca Trail, Wiñay Wayna (forever or forever young) at 2,650 meters above sea level. Here we will enjoy this archaeological site, with impressive water fountains, temples and agricultural terraces. The backdrop of Wiñay Wayna will also impress you, dropping off a cliff, with beautiful mountains surrounding the area in perfect harmony.

From Wiñay Wayna, we will continue for about 10 minutes to stop at the camp of the same name to recharge our batteries, where our chef will be happy to serve lunch and after a siesta we continue with the hike.
